Goldberg Close To Being Cleared For Retirement Match

Goldberg’s retirement match could come soon, with the WCW and WWE legend close to being cleared for an in-ring return.

The multi-time world champion has long spoken of his desire to have a final match, with ‘Da Man’ initially eyeing up Summer 2025 to have the bout. Speaking to Ariel Helwani, Goldberg revealed that he is close to being cleared to wrestle after undergoing stem cell treatment:

“I don’t have any idea,” Goldberg said about when a match could take place. “I just know that I got stem cells five weeks and six days ago, and I’m cleared physically in a very short period of time.”

Goldberg is believed to have undergone stem cell treatment to treat several physical concerns, most notably shoulder problems. As to who Goldberg could face it’s up in air, but one name certainly sticks out:



“If it was Gunther and I that would be logical. There’s some heat there, obviously, that’s already been placed. And he’s the new generation. I’m the old generation. It’s kind of like a passing of the torch in a way,” said Goldberg.

Goldberg last wrestled at WWE Elimination Chamber 2022, losing to Roman Reigns in singles action.
