Goldberg Returns On WWE Raw, Confronts Bobby Lashley
Tells Lashley he's next
Goldberg returned to the WWE fold on Monday's episode of WWE Raw, where he confronted WWE champion Bobby Lashley.
Lashley had just gotten done defeating a returning Keith Lee in a non-title open challenge, utilizing a spear for the finish.
After Lashley's win, Goldberg made his grand return. He entered the ring, got in Lashley's face, laughed, and then yelled, "I'm next." MVP held Lashley back to end the segment.
In a backstage interview afterward, MVP said that Goldberg disrespected Lashley, and they didn't intend to respond to his apparent challenge.
Fightful Select reported days ago that Goldberg was expected to appear on tonight's Raw, in order to set up a SummerSlam match with Lashley.
Goldberg is under WWE contract through the end of 2022, and is obligated to wrestle two matches per year. He already wrestled once so far this year, losing to then-WWE champion Drew McIntyre in a brief match at the 2021 Royal Rumble.
In 2020, Goldberg's two matches were a Universal title victory over The Fiend at Super Showdown, followed by dropping the belt to Braun Strowman at WrestleMania 36.
