Goldberg has revealed he needs shoulder surgery but will not go under the knife until he is confident his in-ring career is over.
Goldberg has worked a part-time schedule with WWE since returning to the company in 2016, competing in about two matches a year. The WWE Hall Of Famer has noted that the most recent match, with Bobby Lashley at WWE Crown Jewel in October, was the most notice he had been given by Vince McMahon for an upcoming match.
Despite being in good shape for his last bout, the the former Universal Champion revealed he has been dealing with a bad shoulder for a significantly long time, one that will eventually need surgery.
Speaking as a guest on The Pat McAfee Show, Goldberg said: "I felt pretty good. I won’t tell everybody on national radio or television that my shoulder has been destroyed for the last three years, five years, eight years and I need surgery.
"I’ll get it when I’m done, I’ll get it when I’m finished. If Vince [McMahon] calls me tomorrow morning and says, ‘Goldberg, we need you in a month.’ What am I going to do if I get surgery? I’ll get it done when it’s time."
