Grizzled Young Veterans Launch New Pro Wrestling Promotion

Two former WWE stars have launched their own professional wrestling promotion. 

In a promo video, the Grizzled Young Veterans announced the launch of Burning Heart Wrestling. The company will be led by a committee of international wrestlers and has been "created by wrestlers, for wrestlers and fans."

James Drake and Zack Gibson revealed the first show from the indy promotion will be on June 21 at the Liverpool Olympia in Liverpool, England. Tickets for Burning Heart Wrestling's first show go on sale at 10 am GMT on Monday, April 29. 

Zack Gibson said: "It is my pleasure to announce that the first show will take place in my hometown on the 21st of June at the Liverpool Olympia, a venue rich in history that has seen its fair share of blood, sweat, and tears in a city with unrivalled heart what better place for a company called Burning Heart to show the world exactly what they are about pro wrestling from the heart."

No talent have been announced for the first show outside of Grizzled Young Veterans. 

The Liverpool Olympia has a rich history in pro wrestling and held the ROH World Title/ROH Pure Title unification match between Bryan Danielson and Nigel McGuinness in 2006. TNA have also held house shows at the arena, while WCPW Kirbymania also emanated from the Liverpool Olympia. 

Grizzled Young Veterans were previously a part of WWE from 2018 until September 2023 and they are former NXT UK Tag Team Champions. James Drake and Zack Gibson have been free agents since then, wrestling for the likes of TNA, Wrestling REVOLVER, RevPro, and NORTH Wrestling.
