Gunther made history over the last week by passing the Honky Tonk Man as the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion of all time. With him now existing firmly in WWE’s history books, surpassing 455 days as champion (as of this writing), he is set for a celebration.

On the upcoming episode of Monday Night Raw on September 11, Gunther will be in attendance after outlasting Chad Gable last week to celebrate his record-breaking reign with this iconic belt. When looking at the names who held this gold, such as Bret “The Hitman” Hart, Razor Ramon, Seth Rollins, Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho, The Rock, and so on and so on, it is mightily impressive that Gunther was the one to break this record which has been in place for three and half decades.

Also announced for this week’s edition of Raw is an appearance from “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes, and a rematch for the WWE Women’s World Championship between the champion Rhea Ripley and challenger Raquel Rodriguez, though after his involvement at Payback, Dominik Mysterio is banned from ringside.
