Gunther Takes Shot At The Ultimate Warrior, Says He Isn't A Pro Wrestler

Gunther was not impressed by The Ultimate Warrior

The Ultimate Warrior is one of the most legendary names in WWE history, and one of the most divisive, with the former WWF Champion as known for his controversies away for the ring as he was for his intensity in it.

Whilst his work in the ring earned him a legion of fans, The Ultimate Warrior can not count Gunther as one of them, with the Intercontinental Champion saying the following about the WWE Hall of Famer during an appearance on WWE’s The Bump:

“That’s… That’s one of the real dark ages at one point. Look at that…” said GUNTHER, before giving his honest assessment of Warrior’s skills, “No he’s not. He’s a showman. He’s not an athlete. Not a professional wrestler, he’s a showman. So, now everyone knows why I have to be the one to keep this title for the longest time in history to wash its reputation clean and set it to a new standard.”

Warrior was the first ever dual champion in WWE history, holding the Intercontinental Championship and the WWE Championship at the same time after defeating Hulk Hogan for the Winged Eagle at WrestleMania VI in a title-for-title match.
