An AEW rivalry will be rekindled on Wednesday night’s edition of Dynamite in the final of the Owen Hart Foundation tournament.

Hangman Page defeated Jay White in the semi-finals of the men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament in the main event of Saturday night’s edition of AEW Collision. The match featured plenty of blood and a ref bump which allowed Christian Cage to spear Jay White while Hangman Page was in an argument with Jeff Jarrett. Page then hit the Buckshot Lariat to White and the referee recovered just in time to count the 1-2-3 for Page.

As a result of his win, Page will take on Bryan Danielson in the final of the tournament on the July 10 episode of Dynamite from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Page only returned to AEW on the July 3 episode of Dynamite as The Young Bucks’ wildcard in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament against Jeff Jarrett. Page, with new theme music and a bad attitude, battered Jarrett to advance to the semi-finals.

The Young Bucks later tried to recruit Page for their Blood & Guts team but Hangman said he was finished being their puppet. The former AEW World Champion then made it clear he was back to right the wrongs he had suffered over the last year and win the AEW World Championship from Swerve Strickland at All In.

Bryan Danielson and Hangman Page have a long history in AEW and they previously feuded over the AEW World Title. They went to a 60-minute time limit draw at Winter is Coming 2021 before Page won their second match at New Year’s Smash 2022. Danielson levelled their matches at 1-1-1 by defeating Page in the vacant AEW World Title tournament later in the year. Danielson and Page rekindled their issues in 2023 as part of the Blackpool Combat Club vs. The Elite programme as they were on opposite sides in Anarchy in the Arena at Double or Nothing 2023.
