Hangman Page "Excited" About Possible AEW Match With CM Punk

Is it only a matter of time until Punk vs. Hangman?

At last weekend's AEW Revolution, CM Punk made a belt motion around his waist following his victory over MJF - seemingly implying that he intends to pursue the AEW World Championship. Later, in the main event, 'Hangman' Adam Page successfully retained the title over Adam Cole, and spoke in the post-show press scrum about the possibility of facing the Chicago native.

“[Does it] frighten me? No, [it] excites me. Of course, a good portion of our roster I grew up watching - he of course is one of them. His entrance tonight was just incredible, chills down my spine. I completely welcome if that’s what he said. We will find out Wednesday I assume.”

Page is currently in his first reign as AEW World Champion, and is only the fourth unique champion in the title's two and a half year history - following in the footsteps of Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega. On the Revolution pre-show, Don Callis cut a promo stating that when Omega returns from his current hiatus, he is sure to become champion once again.
