Hangman Page Honours Hunter Horse Helmsley's Memory

A damn good horse.

It has often been said that a cowboy is only half a man. The other half is his horse.

A good horse can be hard to find and AEW's resident cowboy Hangman Adam Page wants the world to know just what a good horse Hunter Horse Helmsley was.

Page entered the arena at AEW All Out 2019 riding the horse, whose name was a clear reference to WWE's Triple H (AKA Hunter Hearst Helmsley). Sadly, Hunter Horse Helmsley passed away less than two months after All Out (where Page lost to Chris Jericho in a match to crown the inaugural AEW World Champion).

"He was a good horse. He was a good horse. He's dead now. While alive, he was a good horse. No politics, showed up, did his job, didn't complain. Good horse," Page said of the animal during a recent appearance on Hey! (EW)

With regards to actually riding the horse, Page detailed the experience on AEW Unrestricted in 2020, saying:

"'I wanna ride in on a horse. I tried to figure out where a performing horse comes from because certainly, I can't ride one of my dad's horses. I looked up rodeos and rodeo promoters in the Chicago area, found a guy in Wisconsin and we got to talking. He owned a horse named Stoney [shoot name]. He was in some of the Batman movies and TV shows in Chicago. He's done a lot of work. He knew what the deal was. Compared to a lot of things he had done before, All Out was a tame night for him. I drove up and hung out with Stoney a couple of days before All Out. He showed up early in the morning, we did some run-throughs and I rode a horse. Stoney was more afraid during the rehearsal than the actual show. By the time we had done a few rehearsals, he figured 'no one is going to mess with me. This is cool'. He got his footing, they laid down some padding. It was raining that day so he was nervous about walking in the rain. So getting inside and then figuring out that it was okay, he was cool."

Hangman will be in action on this Wednesday's edition of AEW Dynamite, where he will team with the Young Bucks to take on The Hardys and Brother Zay.
