Hangman Page: My AEW Character Is Just Me

Adam Page says the line between fiction and reality is thin regarding ‘The Hangman’

With his ascent to the AEW World Championship scene, lining the path to stardom with tons of piles of cowboy s***, Adam Page is firmly established as one of AEW’s most popular stars.

However, for as much as ‘The Hangman’ might be seen as a gimmick, Page has admitted there’s more reality behind his persona than you’d think, telling Chris Van Vliet on Insight:

“All of me is the character,” Page said. “It’s very weird and difficult to do, but it is also cathartic, like this is s****y, but this is me. I have never been a perfect person, but I just put it out there.”

It is often said that the best wrestling personas are the performer’s real personality dialled up to 11, with the likes of ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin and CM Punk two good examples of this rule. As for ‘Hangman’ Page, as long as people are still behind him, then don’t expect the cowboy s*** to dry up anytime soon.
