Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI Win NJPW World Tag League For Second Year In A Row

Bishamon win NJPW World Tag League!

For the second year in a row, Bishamon are World Tag League winners.

Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI faced off with Aussie Open in the World Tag League 2022 final today and both teams fought back and forth throughout the contest. Aussie Open failed to pick up the win, though, and Bishamon scored the 1-2-3 after hitting Kyle Fletcher with their super tag team finisher.

With the win, Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI will challenge FTR for the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships at Wrestle Kingdom 17. That show will emanate from the Tokyo Dome on January 4.

Bishamon previously won World Tag League in 2021, defeating EVIL and Yujiro Takahashi. Bishamon went on to defeat Dangerous Tekkers at Wrestle Kingdom 16 for the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Titles before dropping the belts to Jeff Cobb and Great-O-Khan after a 95-day reign.

Today's win also means Hirooki Goto is a four-time World Tag League winner, having won the tournament in 2012 with Karl Anderson and in 2014 with Katsuyori Shibata. YOSHI-HASHI, meanwhile, is a two-time winner.
