History Making Match Announced For Next Week's Episode Of IMPACT Wrestling

Blanchard vs. Valkyrie next week...

IMPACT Wrestling made history earlier this year when Tessa Blanchard became the first-ever female to win a major wrestling promotion's World Championship.

Now, IMPACT Wrestling is set to make history once again next week as they announced earlier today on Twitter that Tessa Blanchard will defend her IMPACT World Championship against former Knockouts Champion Taya Valkyrie. This will be the first time two women have faced off for the IMPACT world title.

The match came about as a result of Valkyrie's actions on this week's episode of IMPACT. The Queen Of The Carolinas was set to defend her title against X Division Champion Ace Austin, but the match ended in a disqualification after The Queen Of The North attacked her from out of nowhere.

Valkyrie has been somewhat directionless in recent weeks since her record-breaking reign as Knockouts Champion came to an end at the hands of Jordynne Grace. Now, however, Valkyrie has evidently found her fire again and is aiming for the promotion's top prize.

Fans can catch the show on Tuesday night at 8 pm ET, or if you're in the UK, the episode will be broadcast on Friday night at 11.50 pm on 5Star.
