CMLL Believed To Have Pulled Tessa Blanchard From MLW Event

After being announced for MLW Fightland, Tessa Blanchard won't be working for Major League Wrestling after all. Blanchard is now advertised for CMLL's September 12 event at Arena Coliseo against STARDOM's Starlight Kid.

Blanchard announced last week that she would be joining Major League Wrestling and promotional materials were produced for her appearance at MLW Fightland on September 12, but those materials were soon pulled. CMLL, meanwhile, announced on September 4 that Blanchard was only scheduled for the September 12 MLW event.

PWInsider has reported that the general consensus within pro wrestling is Blanchard being removed from MLW Fightland was not an issue on her side, but CMLL simply decided to pull the former TNA World Champion from the event. Why CMLL decided to do so is unknown, especially when the Lucha Libre promotion have a working relationship with MLW.

Tessa Blanchard is signed to CMLL and she actually asked for her TNA release earlier this year after being told she had to choose between the Mexican promotion and TNA, with Blanchard ultimately deciding to remain a part of CMLL. Blanchard has been a regular for CMLL in her second stint with the company since October 2025 and she is engaged to the luchador Esfinge.
