Former WWE star Hornswoggle is feeling older than his years.
During a recent appearance on The Undertaker's Six Feet Under podcast, the 38-year-old noted that he physically feels more like 58, saying:
"Making towns at 38 years old. Feeling like I'm 58. At 38, I have a hearing aid. I've had two back surgeries in the last three years and just still living life". The former WWE Cruiserweight Champion explained that he was born with scoliosis and had surgery straighten his spine when he was 4. However, the procedure was not done correctly, leading to complications.
"He cut me open. He hit a nerve in my spine and ended up paralysing me because he's never done surgery on my people. [At 4], I had that surgery and was paralysed from the waist down, full body cast. We found a doctor in Minneapolis who specialises in little person surgeries. He put a rod in my back. First thing he says to my parents is 'no trampolines and no contact sports'. Years and years later when I started working for WWE, he randomly called my dad and was like, 'I see he didn’t listen to me'", Hornswoggle said. He added that "Over time, the nerves have kind of went around my spine and cut feeling from a lot of my legs down. We tried to open it up, didn't work…I'm still above ground. I'm very, very okay". He continued by saying that the front of his legs feel "pretty dead" and that his feet "always feel cold".
Hornswoggle performed for WWE between 2006 and 2016. He made a surprise appearance as an entrant in the Greatest Royal Rumble match in 2018, before making another surprise appearance during the 2019 Women's Royal Rumble match (where he chased Zelina Vega).
The honorary D-Generation X member is signed to a WWE Legends contract.
