Toni Storm and Mercedes Mone shaking hands in AEW

There has been plenty of talk over this week regarding the upcoming AEW All In: Texas 2025 match between AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm and TBS Champion Mercedes Moné, with speculation arising about when and where Mercedes Moné was planned to lose for the first time in AEW. It was reported that Moné had been open to losing to Athena in recent months in order to build up to a rematch at All In.

However, Fightful Select have a conflicting report on this matter, as it has been revealed that Toni Storm vs. Mercedes Moné has been the running plan in AEW for All In, stretching all the way back to 2024 when Mariah May was still the AEW Women’s World Champion - with no sign of a Moné vs. Athena match being a potential All In prospect. In terms of Mone being discussed to lose against Athena, this has been something refuted by AEW sources, according to Fightful. In terms of her losing full stop, it is revealed that Moné is open to losing whenever AEW wants her too, but that has yet to occur amidst her push.

When it comes to original All In 2025 plans for Mariah May, it is revealed that she was planned for a non-title match. However, with her leaving AEW and signing with WWE, these plans were abandoned. Her exit made no impact on AEW’s plans for the Women’s World Title match between Storm and Moné.
