Sid Eudy, who primarily wrestled as Sycho Sid, Sid Vicious, and Sid Justice during his pro wrestling career, will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame later this year as a legacy inductee and as part of the class of 2026.
Speaking with Bill Apter, Sid's sons Gunnar and Frank Eudy revealed how Sycho Sid's WWE Hall of Fame induction came together.
"They reached out to our mom of all people, which makes sense. She's the main point of contact. And they kind of let us know last week and were curious about if we would be interested in it and everything like that and what we thought about it. Obviously any time that the fans get to celebrate Dad, we like that concept. Dad always liked to make the fans happy and put on a good show, it was what it was all about for him," Frank said.
"I think a lot of fans have wanted this to happen for a long time. I saw a lot of positive outpouring and feedback today online. It was always great. I remember when Dad passed, we got so many positive words sent to us online through social media, people we don't know, people we do know. And today I feel like it was even more so. Getting to see all the fans out there really get a day to feel happy for Dad, it makes us happy too."
Sycho Sid wrestled full-time from 1987 to 2001, often switching between WWE and WCW, but he also had a short run in ECW in 1999 and competed for USWA in the mid-1990s. Sid is a two-time WWE Champion and four-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion.
Sid Vicious also holds the rare distinction of only wrestling in the main event of WrestleMania when he competed at WWE's biggest show of the year. At WrestleMania VIII, he lost to Hulk Hogan by DQ. Sid dropped the WWE Championship to The Undertaker at WrestleMania 13.
Sid Eudy passed away in August 2024 at 63 years old after privately battling cancer for several years. A memorial show for Sycho Sid will be held in West Memphis, Arkansas on August 29. All profits from the event will be donated to local dog shelters.
