Huge Title Match Set For AEW Grand Slam

Massive title vs. title match will take place at Grand Slam

The issues between Claudio Castagnoli and Eddie Kingston have been building for a very long time. Even before AEW they had bad blood, but from pretty much day one of Castagnoli stepping foot in the company, this rivalry has been bubbling. It developed more on television, with the pair battling on ROH PPV, and things have just escalated from there.

On last night’s AEW Collision, the pair met in a backstage interview segment, and they agreed to battle once again, this time with the stakes raised even higher. In Kingston’s home of New York at the AEW Grand Slam event inside Arthur Ashe Stadium, Kingston and Castagnoli will each put their respective belts on the line in a title vs. title match. The winner will be crowned both the ROH World Champion and the NJPW Strong Champion.

The current card for AEW Grand Slam this year is as follows;

  • Claudio Castagnoli (c) vs. Eddie Kingston (c) - ROH World Championship & NJPW Strong Championship
  • MJF (c) vs. Roderick Strong or Samoa Joe - AEW World Championship
  • Saraya (c) vs. Britt Baker or Toni Storm or Nyla Rose or Hikaru Shida - AEW Women’s World Championship
  • Chris Jericho vs. Sammy Guevara
