'I Would Do It Again' - Alberto Del Rio Open To WWE Return

Del Rio departed the company for the second time in 2016

Alberto Del Rio says he would be open to the idea of working for WWE again, if the company wanted him.

Del Rio had two stints with WWE, with the most recent coming to an end in 2016 after a suspension due to a breach of the promotion's Wellness Policy.

Reflecting on his last run in the company, the 44-year-old admitted he was in a dark place due to going through divorce and suffering with depression, but that does not excuse his behaviour.

Should the former WWE Champion ever get the opportunity to work with WWE again, Del Rio says he would be extremely thankful for the chance and also apologetic for his past attitude and actions.

Speaking to SportsKeeda Wrestling, he said: "Of course, first of all, I would say thank you. Thank you for the opportunity, and sorry for the mistakes I made. I just didn't know.

"Sometimes I would just, I did it because it was personal. Now, as a promoter, I know there is nothing personal in pro wrestling. It's just business. I'm sorry for my mistakes.

"No excuse, but I was also going through a difficult time in my life when I got divorced. I lost a fantastic woman, the mother of my children, for my mistakes, and that put me in a deep depression. But that's just for me to handle. It's not an excuse. It takes a toll on you and your body, and your mind and your spirit.

"So, I will say thank you and sorry, and I would do it again."
