Ian Riccaboni has signed a multi-year deal with All Elite Wrestling.

Riccaboni has been working under the AEW since Tony Khan purchased Ring of Honor in early 2022, and it looks like Riccaboni will be in the fold for many years to come.

Although the lead announcer for ROH, Riccaboni has recently stepped into the AEW Collision announce booth, covering whilst Kevin Kelly calls the G1 Climax Tournament for New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Riccaboni confirmed the news on Twitter, mentioning that his fetching cowboy hat on the July 15 Collision had no bearing on his signing:

“It wasn't the hat. It happened before the hat, fwiw. Although if it hadn't happened, I'm sure the hat probably would have helped it,” Tweeted Riccaboni.

Fightful Select broke the news that Riccaboni had signed a multi-year deal with AEW, stating in their report that Riccaboni was the original first choice for Collision before suggesting Kevin Kelly for the spot instead. Riccaboni seemingly turned down the Collision role in order to spend more time with his family:

“We record remotely the weeks I don't Collision. It is my family. I have a 6 and a 4 year old. Everyone was first class and upfront when talking through the situation,” Tweeted Riccaboni.
