Pete Dunne as El Grande Americano

WWE will be able to start their own faction of El Grande Americanos if the company continues at their current pace of placing new wrestlers under the mask.

Chad Gable has confirmed he was the original El Grande Americano when the character debuted in March 2025, having mentioned at a Minnesota Twins game that he had a singles match at WrestleMania 41. Gable sustained a rotator cuff injury in June, however, and Ludwig Kaiser has performed under the mask since then, including in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide.

Kaiser was once again under the mask on Monday Night Raw as El Grande Americano tried to interfere during the World Tag Team Title match between Judgment Day's Finn Balor & JD McDonagh and the LWO's Cruz Del Toro & Joaquin Wilde. The tall Americano was driven off by Dragon Lee, however.

As the match reached the finish, however, Cruz Del Toro reached the top rope, only to be suddenly pushed back into the ring by another El Grande Americano in a tracksuit. This allowed Finn Balor to hit the Coup de Grace for the successful title defence.

El Grande Americano III is ultimately Pete Dunne. The Bruiserweight has not performed on WWE TV since the May 26 taping of WWE Main Event when he teamed with New Catch Republic partner Tyler Bate. It initially appeared Dunne and Bate were dealing with injuries, but Bate has since noted he is simply "waiting" to be used.

Pete Dunne portraying El Grande Americano may have come together due to Dunne's involvement with AAA. The Lucha Libre promotion's announcer Roberto Figueroa recently revealed on a podcast that Dunne has been working in AAA as a producer.
