Ilja Dragunov Vacates WWE NXT UK Title

A New WWE NXT UK Champion will be crowned in the coming weeks after Ilja Dragunov relinquished the title on Thursday's show from London, England.

Dragunov opened the episode on crutches and wearing a protective boot and Unbesiegbar announced he had suffered a serious ankle injury on last week's show during his NXT UK Title defence against Wolfgang. As a result, the NXT UK Title had to be vacated. Dragunov then revealed he does not know how long he will be out of action but he plans to come back stronger.

Following the segment, it was announced that an eight-man tournament will begin next week. On the left side of the bracket, Oliver Carter will take on Charlie Dempsey while Wolfgang will face Trent Seven. On the right side, Tyler Bate will battle Kenny Williams, and Joe Coffey will go one-on-one with Mark Andrews.
