New WWE NXT UK Champion Crowned At TV Tapings

A new NXT UK Champion has been crowned.

Ilja Dragunov announced at Wednesday's NXT UK TV taping at BT Studios in London, England, that he was dealing with an injury and would have to vacate the NXT UK Title. An eight-man tournament to crown a new champion was then held, which concluded at Thursday's taping in London. 

After several matches, Tyler Bate emerged victorious to become the first-ever two-time NXT UK Champion, defeating his former Moustache Mountain tag team partner Trent Seven to win the gold. 

When exactly Bate winning the tournament will air on NXT UK is currently unclear as Ilja Dragunov still has an NXT UK Title defence against Wolfgang that has yet to be broadcast.
