October 7 saw the 18th annual Bound For Glory, the biggest night in IMPACT Wrestling’s calendar, and once again BFG did not disappoint as we saw new champions crowned, and a surprise or two from Albany, New York’s Armory.

So what went down at Bound For Glory? Full results below:

Brian Myers (c) def. Dirty Dango - IMPACT Digital Media Championship - Countdown To Glory Pre-Show

After weeks of ducking and diving, scratching and clawing, Digital Media Champion Brian Myers continued his run with the title overcoming none other than Dirty Dango after the artist formerly known as Fandango answered the ‘Most Professional Wrestler’s open challenge.

The two went back and forth as Myers sarcastically welcomed Dango to IMPACT, with Dango coming close to a win with a huge Tornado DDT after kicking out of a Myers Evenflow. Dango wanted the Down & Dirty leg drop, but Myers had it scouted, then nailed the Roster Cut to escape with the gold yet again.

We then got a video package for Raven, before the former TNA/NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion was inducted into the IMPACT Hall of Fame. Of course there was no-one more suited to induct Raven into the HOF than his greatest rival Tommy Dreamer, with Dreamer paying tribute to the ECW icon before the multi-time ECW Champion made his way to the podium.

Raven was self deprecating and frank before reflecting on his career from the territories, through ECW, WCW, WWE and beyond, even throwing in a reference to the infamous crucifixion of the Sandman in the ECW Arena. Raven then finally formally ended his feud with Dreamer with a hug… then an Evenflow DDT for good measure.

Frankie Kazarian def. Mike Bailey (c) - X-Division Championship

Bound For Glory kicked off with X-Division action as X-Division Champion Mike Bailey took on former champion and AEW star Frankie Kazarian, with Kaz looking for his fifth X Division Title win.

The two came right out of the traps, exchanging hold and counter-hold as Kazarian went for the Chickenwing early. ‘Speedball’ had flourishes, but Kaz exerted veteran control of the bout. Bailey found his footing, with crowd firmly behind him but nearly lost the bout when Kaz dug deep and hit Back to the Future for a nearfall. Bailey rocked Kaz with a inch perfect headkick and moonsault knee, before hitting Ultimo Weapon… for two as Kazarian became the first in IMPACT to kick out of the move. Kazarian then sunk the Chickenwing but Bailey fought to his feet and crashed to the floor taking ‘The Future’ with him.

A massive rope sprung cutter nearly sealed the win for Kazarian, as did a Flux Capacitor, but Bailey would not stay down. A second Ultimo Weapon for Bailey was turned into a cutter, again for two, before Kazarian locked in the Chickenwing and grapevined the legs as Bailey tapped, with Kazarian lifting the X Division Championship for a fifth time.

Mickie James def. Mia Yim

Huge stakes on the line with Mickie James on her ‘last rodeo’ wanting to capture the Knockouts Title one last time with any loss on the road signalling the end of her career. Mia Yim was next on James’ list, and the two were evenly matched, exchanging hold and counter holds and pin attempts, with no-one coming out on top in the opening exchanges.

James tweaked her knee going for the turnbuckle bulldog, giving Yim a target to aim for, and one that was hit time and again. Mickie fought through the pain, looking to outstrike Yim, but every movement aggravated the injury, and it was surprising that Mickie could kick out after eating a buckle bomb and cannonball from Yim. James kept finding openings, but couldn’t assert dominance, with a Mick Kick attempt caught and turned into a Stretch Muffler. Yim told Mickie she was sorry as she hit Eat Defeat, but Mickie grabbed the ropes at two, then hit the Leaping Mick-DDT for the win as the last rodeo rides on. Post-match the two competitors embraces as James thanked Yim.

The Death Dollz  def. VXT (c) - Knockouts Tag Team Championships

Death Dollz started strong as Jessicka and Taya worked over Chelsea Green before Green could speed away and tag in Deonna Purrazzo. It wasn’t long until the champs got the advantage, blasting Taya with stereo headkicks and a double superplex as they looked to try and steal a win out of nowhere. The ref missed a tag to Jessicka as VXT continued the assault, doing everything they could to keep momentum in their favour. Jessicka finally tagged in and ran riot, hitting both of VXT with a running splash for a two, and withstood everything that VXT threw at her, before nailing Green with a Sick Driver for the three and the Knockouts Tag Titles, because Jessicka is siiiick.

The Kingdom (c) def. The Motor City Machine Guns - IMPACT World Tag Team Championships

First time meeting between these two teams, and Matt Taven wasted no time, jumping Alex Shelley as the bell rang. Quick tags by both teams as both sides looked to gain firm control of the bout. The Guns finally established control of the match, even bending the rules by distracting the ref to hit Taven with some well deserved double teaming. Duelling chants rang out in Albany, as Maria Kanellis’ attempts at distraction only backfired on The Kingdom.

The champs finally got a foothold in the match, working over Shelley on the floor and in the ring, but Sabin soon got the hot tag, crushing the champs with a big crossbody and a DDT/headkick combo. Sabin was too quick for The Kingdom, causing the two to collide on several occasions, before sending the pair halfway up the ramp with a high velocity tope suicida. MCMG came close with a double team flatliner dropkick combo, but it only fired up The Kingdom who were soon back in the bout. The action came thick and fast, with the champs almost retaining after a big spike piledriver, but another Kingdom collision allowed the Guns back in once more, crushing Taven with a double team Cradleshock for a two.

Maria stopped Shelley from hitting Skull & Bones but Shelley managed to tie Taven in the tree of woe, eating two dropkicks and a suplexed Mike Bennett for his troubles. Maria tried interfering again but ate a superkick from her husband, before Taven rolled Sabin up with his feet on the ropes for leverage as Honor No More kept their hands on the IMPACT World Tag Titles.

Bully Ray wins the Call Your Shot Gauntlet

Eric Young and Joe Hendry kicked off the Call Your Shot Gauntlet, looking for an opportunity to call their shot at any title they want at any time, with five competitors in the mixed match not announced ahead of time. ‘WE BELIEVE’ chants rang out as Hendry showed off his power as Steve Maclin became entrant three, soon followed by Rich Swann at four. Former ROH World Champion PCO was out fifth and ran riot before Savannah Evans came out at six. Everyone’s favourite carny Johnny Swinger was wheeled to the ring on a mini WrestleMania ring by Zicky Dice, closely followed by Tasha Steelz. Steelz and Evans teamed up as the ring started to fill, with Killer Kelly joining the fray at nine and going after everyone in her line of sight. Kelly locked a sleeper hold on Evans, and Steelz took advantage, dumping both over the top rope.

The Wrestling God Moose came to the ring looking to win back-to-back Call Your Shot Gauntlets, launching Joe Hendry then PCO from the match. Sami Calihan was next and beelined straight for Moose and Maclin as the issues between the three continued. Taylor Wilde made a surprise return to IMPACT at 12, her first appearance in IMPACT since August 2021. Giselle Shaw was out next, as several of Eric Young’s followers hopped the rail looking to save Eric with Deaner running in and blindsiding Sami out of the match. Another big return as Bully Ray made his way to the ring to a big ovation pressing Tasha Steelz out of the ring with ease as if she was Spike Dudley. The ECW vibes continued as Tommy Dreamer made his way into the gauntlet, shortly followed by Rhino who made his long awaited return to the company as loud ECW chants rang out. Swinger tried joining in the ECW love - he was part of the roster after all - but was eliminated by Dreamer and Bully. Bhupinder Ghujjar entered as Dreamer was eliminated, with Heath soon following Bhupinder into the fray and reuniting with his buddy Rhino. Mixed reaction for Bobby Fish who was greeted by loud ‘CM Punk’ chants, before Matt Cardona made his return in the 20 spot.

Cardona waited outside as people started flying out, with Rhino, Heath, and Moose quickly being ejected, as Cardona finally entered and finally came face-to-face with Bully Ray. Bully and Taylor Wilde hit the Wazzup headbutt on Cardona, but before Wilde could get the tables she and Shaw were ejected by Cardona. Bhupinder then hit a massive upset by ejecting Cardona, but was subsequently dumped out by EY. As Young hit the ground from a Rich Swann kick were down to four; Swann, Maclin, Bobby Fish, and Bully Ray. Maclin soon sent Swann packing, then ejected Fish as he squared off with Bully Ray as it became a one-on-one bout.

Bubba used his physicality to try and end the match, but Maclin showed his mettle, crushing the ECW icon with an Olympic Slam. However, a missed knee became Maclin’s undoing as a Bully Bomb got the former IMPACT World Champion the win, and the all important Call Your Shot Gauntlet Trophy

We saw Eddie Edwards in his locker room promising his family that he will win the IMPACT World Championship and bring all this madness to an end.

Jordynne Grace (c) def. Masha Slamovich -  IMPACT Knockouts Championship

The fearsome undefeated Masha Slamovich made her way to the biggest bout of her career sporting facepaint in homage to the great Bull Nakano before a fearless Jordynne Grace made her way to the ring for this high stakes Knockouts Championship clash as Dave Penzer performed in-ring introductions.

The two ran straight for each other and into a wild brawl, with Grace all over the challenger from the start. The action spilled to the floor as the champ relentlessly asserted her dominance on the bout, hoping to end things quickly as Slamovich usually finishes things off around the three minute mark. Masha soon made her mark with a package backpack driver on the apron, and soon fought out of a Grace Driver attempt as Slamovich finally found her groove. Grace stopped the assault with a stiff AA Spinebuster before the two exchanged standing knife edge chops, finishing off with duelling spinning backfists as both competitors hit the mat.

The two continued to go back and forth, with Grace hitting a high angle Michinoku Driver for a close two. A follow up Vader Bomb was wide of the mark, allowing Masha to hit a Russian Destroyer for a two of her own, before Grace hit a delayed Superplex into a roll through jackhammer for two. Slamovich fought out of a Muscle Buster attempt and locked in a sleeper into a bulldog choke as Grace started to fade. Grace once again fought back and came close with a Vertebreaker, before peppering Slamovich with a series of kicks to the head and a Grace Driver, but again could only get a two. Slamovich hit an Air Raid Crash into the corner before nailing the Snow Plow, but Grace had the wherewithal to get her foot under the rope and nullify the count. This was the turning point of Grace’s night, as she soon managed to be the first to defeat Slamovich, putting the Russian away with an Avalanche Grace Driver to retain the Knockouts Title.

Josh Alexander (c) def. Eddie Edwards - IMPACT World Championship

Main event time, as Eddie Edwards and Josh Alexander met to see who was the heart and soul of IMPACT as their families watched on from the front row.

The action started slow as both men looked to size each other up, both men trying to one up the other and get the mental victory as mind games were in full swing. Eddie soon got the first hurrah, booting Alexander out the ring and harshly chopping the champ as his family watched on. Alexander fired back, but Eddie crushed him with a big belly-to-belly in the middle of the ring as the former two-time champ asserted control of the match. Outside the ring, Eddie pulled back the mats to expose the wooden floor, eventually nailing Alexander with a Die Hard Driver onto the wood.

Edwards was firmly in control, and Alexander looked to be in real trouble, with Edwards nailing a big backpack stunner into a single leg crab. ‘Walking Weapon’ looked to turn the tide, and after eating a Powerbomb fired back with a vicious running Alabama Slam into the corner. The champ then hit multiple German suplexes, hitting the third onto the apron, and holding on to hit four on the floor, and five on the ramp. Alexander got a second wind, nailing vicious powerbomb to knee on Edwards, but Eddie managed to hit a big Blue Thunder Bomb for a two and halt Alexander’s momentum. Boston Knee Party was scouted and turned into a Styles Clash as Alexander locked in an Ankle Lock, but Eddie escaped before the grapevine could be locked in. Edwards managed a superplex but Alexander rolled through into a C4 Spike, but The Kingdom pulled the ref and struck him to interrupt the count. Kenny King then nailed the lowblow on Alexander as security finally intervened and a second ref arrived, with Eddie able to hit the Boston Knee Party, but could only get a two.

Edwards went for another Die Hard Driver, but was levelled with a Half-and-Half Suplex but wouldn’t stay down, coming close to a win with a nasty Tiger Driver. Alexander was bleeding from a busted nose as Eddie looked for the win, but it only fired the champ up as the two exchanged stiff standing strikes. Edwards then spat in Alexander’s face, but ate two rolling elbows and a C4 Spike as the champ retained after a hard hitting war.

Before Alexander could celebrate his win Honor No More attacked the champ, and dispatched Heath and Rich Swann who attempted to make the save. Honor No More proceeded to set up a table in the ring, but before it could come into play Bully Ray made his way to the ring with his Call Your Shot Trophy. Bully looked to call his shot, but it was a ruse as he and Alexander teamed up to fight off Honor No More, with Bully lifting the IMPACT World Championship in Alexander’s face to let him know he can have his number whenever he pleases as Bound For Glory went off the air.
