IMPACT World Title Match Confirmed For Bound For Glory 2021

Christian Cage defends against Josh Alexander

Josh Alexander has exercised 'option C' and has his eyes firmly set on Christian Cage and the IMPACT World Heavyweight Championship.

IMPACT Victory Road 2021 ended on Saturday 18 September with Cage successfully defending the IMPACT World Title against Ace Austin. Following the bout, X-Division Champion Alexander made his way down to the ring to confront Cage.

Alexander would make clear to Cage that he was opting to exercise 'option C' - a rule in IMPACT Wrestling which permits the X-Division Champion to vacate the title in order to receive a shot at the IMPACT World Championship - and would be doing so at Bound For Glory 2021.

The two then had a stare-down to close the show.

Alexander had successfully defended the X-Division Title on the Victory Road card as well, defeating Chris Sabin.

Cage has held the IMPACT World Championship since the first episode of AEW Rampage on August 13, defeating Kenny Omega for the Title.

Bound for Glory will take place at Sam’s Town Live in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 23.
