IMPACT Wrestling Releases Former X-Division Champion

A former X-Division Champion has been released by IMPACT Wrestling

IMPACT have come to terms on the release of a former X-Division Champion, according to reports.

Per Fightful Select, IMPACT have released Kenny King from his contract, after the multi-time champion asked for his release.

It’s believed that King’s matches at the October IMPACT Wrestling TV tapings will be his last for the company, with his tag match with Sheldon Jean against IMPACT World Tag Team Champions ABC set to be the last of his run.

King had been part of IMPACT for the last two years, coming in as part of Honor No More in February 2022 before going on to feud with Mike Bailey, and even having a run as IMPACT Digital Media Champion. King previously worked for TNA between 2005 - 2006, and again from 2012 until 2015, where he had two reigns as X-Division Champion as part of the Beat Down Clan.

As well as TNA/IMPACT, King had two storied runs in Ring of Honor, where he had two runs with the ROH World Television Championship, and three reigns as ROH World Tag Team Champion alongside Rhett Titus, and Dragon Lee.
