All the action from the IMPACT Zone

The race to crown a new number one contender was on, in the wake of the news that Christian Cage will challenge IMPACT World Champion Kenny Omega on AEW’s inaugural edition of Rampage on Friday.

19 men were involved in the battle royal, and the majority teamed up early to eliminate the big threat of W. Morrissey. Rivals targeted rivals - Rich Swann and Willie Mack tangled with VBD, whilst Moose, Sami Callihan, Eddie Edwards, and Chris Sabin tangled at the death. After Moose disposed of Sami and Eddie, Sabin got the big man in a sleeper hold, not realising that Brian Myers was still in the bout. The Most Professional Wrestler dumped Moose and Sabin out, and will face either Christian Cage or Kenny Omega for the gold at some point in the future.

After receiving a beat-down from former partner Tasha Steelz and Savannah Evans, Kiera Hogan came to the ring demanding Steelz face her. Unfortunately for Hogan, she was met by Su Yung and a possessed Kimber Lee, who dragged the former Knockouts Tag Champion kicking and screaming into the unknown. See you around Kiera.

Elsewhere in the Knockouts Division, Tenille Dashwood took on Taylor Wilde, with the two having had issues for a while now. Tenille had control for most of the match - thanks to Kaleb with a K providing a ton of distractions and interference. When Kaleb distracted everyone one last time, Madison Rayne returned to the IMPACT Zone and attacked her former tag partner, allowing Dashwood to get the victory.

The issues between FinJuice and Bullet Club continued, with the two teams having a tag match ahead of David Finlay’s shot at Jay White’s Never Openweight Title at NJPW Resurgence. The two teams put on a good contest, but White turned the tide with a steel chair, taking a DQ loss with a Blade Runner onto Finlay on the chair.

Also, John Skylar got an upset victory over Matt Cardona thanks to interference from Rohit Raju and Shera, Josh Alexander defeated Daivari, and Kenny Omega and Don Callis vowed that Omega would retain the IMPACT World Title against Cage on Rampage, but Cage said he owes to IMPACT to win.

Full results:

  • Tenille Dashwood def. Taylor Wilde
  • Josh Alexander def. Daivari
  • FinJuice def. Bullet Club (Jay White & Chris Bey) - DQ
  • John Skyler def. Matt Cardona
  • Brian Myers won an IMPACT World Title Number One Contenders Battle Royal
