Brian Myers To Challenge For IMPACT World Championship At Emergence 2021

He will face either Kenny Omega or Christian Cage

Brian Myers has been declared the new number one contender to the IMPACT World Championship.

Myers won a 20-Man Over-The-Top-Rope Battle Royal on the August 12 edition of IMPACT Wrestling to become the next man to challenge for the IMPACT World Title, in a match at IMPACT Emergence next weekend.

The 36-year-old last eliminated Moose and Chris Sabin from the highly competitive match, having laid possum on the floor while Sabin tried to wear Moose down with a sleeper-hold. As the two scrambled into the ropes, Myers jumped up and threw them both from the ring, securing his spot as the number one contender for the World Title.

Myers will now need to wait to discover his opponent. Kenny Omega, the reigning IMPACT World Champion, is defending the Title against Christian Cage on the first episode of AEW Rampage on Friday evening.

The winner of that bout will then put the Championship on the line against Myers on Friday 20 August at IMPACT Emergence.
