WWE are considering making a major change to Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide which would see the promotion's current logo be scrapped and replaced with a more WWE-esque emblem.
That is according to WrestleVotes, who reported on WrestleVotes Radio: "We are told WWE is strongly considering a re-design of the AAA logo, something that better reflects the company's new identity under the WWE umbrella, while giving it a fresh, modern look. We're told we shouldn't expect to see this logo debut at Triplemania this weekend. However, sources say it is absolutely possible we could see it revealed before the end of the year."
It was announced over WrestleMania 41 weekend that WWE would acquire AAA as part of a purchase with Fillip. The acquisition is believed to have since been completed, but WWE began making changes to the Mexican promotion shortly after WrestleMania, with Jeremy Borash serving as one of the key figures in AAA. "Moody" Jack Melendez was also hired by WWE to be involved with AAA creative, while the likes of Savio Vega and Pete Dunne are working in AAA as producers.
WWE's goal is to utilise AAA as a developmental territory that would see wrestlers move from AAA to NXT and then the main roster. WWE are also planning to build a Performance Center in Mexico.
