Last stop before Knockouts Knockdown
We head to the IMPACT Zone once again for IMPACT Wrestling, before this weekend’s Knockouts Knockdown IMPACT Plus Special.
Tonight’s main event saw IMPACT World Champion Christian Cage and Option C’s Josh Alexander team up to take on Ace Austin and Madman Fulton in tag team action. Despite not being a solid unti, Cage and Alexander worked well together, with both men being tag specialists this should come as no surprise. Austin and Fulton gave as good as they got, but eventually Cage flipped The Killswitch for the win. There could be more twists and turns in this story though, as earlier in the night Christopher Daniels made it clear to Cage that he wants a title shot.
After making his long awaited return last week, Heath addressed the IMPACT Zone, before calling out former partner Rhino. Eric Young and VBD came out instead, with Young threatening Heath before VBD launched a three-on-one attack.
Bullet Club were back in the house, as Chris Bey, Hikuleo, and El Phantasmo took on FinJuice and Chris Sabin in trios action. This was a back-and-forth and - at times - relentlessly paced match, especially as Bey and Sabin tangled. Eventually it looked like it was going to be Sabin’s day, but a low blow from El P allowed Bey to hit Art of Finesse and get the win.
After their wild brawl at the James Family Compound last week, Scott D’Amore has instituted a no-contact clause for Deonna Purrazzo and Mickie James until Bound For Glory. Before then, the two competitors will pick each other’s poison, with The Virtuosa facing an opponent hand-picked by James at Knockouts Knockdown.
Mercedes Martinez made her IMPACT Wrestling debut, as she teamed with Tasha Steelz and Savannah Evans against Kimber Lee, Brandi Lauren, and a returning Lady Frost. Mercedes spent the majority of the match frustrated on the apron, as Steels and Evans refused to tag her in. Eventually enough was enough, and Martinez rushed the ring, but as Steelz was the legal competitor, she picked up the win.
Elsewhere: Tenille Dashwood went berserk at Decay on ‘All About Me’. Moose and W. Morrissey have been added to the Call Your Shot Gauntlet at Bound For Glory. Willie Mack and Rich Swann handily beat The Learning Tree, before eating a beat down from Brian Myers and company. Maclin defeated Petey Williams and Black Taurus to advance in the X-Division Championship tournament. And Alisha Edwards will take on Kimber Lee, Savannah Evand, and Jordynne Grace in a Monster’s Ball Match at Knockouts Knockdown, in honour of the late great Daffney.
