IMPACT Wrestling could have been without one of their featured performers in 2023 if a few things had gone differently.

After a clip of him and Ace Austin winning the IMPACT World Tag Team Titles was shared on Twitter, Chris Bey revealed that moment saved his pro wrestling career. Bey then elaborated, revealing that he considered retiring from pro wrestling in 2022.

"Yes. I was considering retiring from the sport last year. I lost my heart and soul throughout 2020-2022 and it was a struggle to get it back. Re-signing with Impact was a decision that I felt would truly bring back my passion, and I'm proud to say it's done that," Bey tweeted.

The Ultimate Finesser re-signed with IMPACT Wrestling in October of 2022. He has been part of the promotion since early 2020 and he is a former X-Division Champion.

After re-signing with IMPACT, Chris Bey and Ace Austin (as ABC) headed to New Japan Pro-Wrestling to compete in the Super Jr. Tag League. The tag team reached the final before losing to YOH and Lio Rush.

Upon their return to IMPACT, ABC defeated the Motor City Machine Guns for the IMPACT World Tag Team Championships. Bey and Austin held the gold for 140 days until they dropped the belts to Subculture at Slammiversary in mid-July.
