Back on April 10, Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder of The Revival were released by WWE. The tag team's contracts were set to expire by June at the latest but as WWE had no plans for the former SmackDown Tag Team Champions, they let them go early.

Now going by Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, the team have rebranded themselves as The Revolt and have used famous protest movements as inspiration for their new gimmick as they seemingly look to liberate professional wrestling.

The inspiration behind Harwood and Wheeler's names was also revealed over the weekend. A fan tweeted the team after his wife told him their names rhymed with Ax and Smash of Demolition, and he asked if they were paying homage to the three-time WWE Tag Team Champions.

The fan wrote: "@DaxHarwood @CashWheelerFTR suggested "Dax & Cash" for a pair of kittens and my wife accused me of just trying to rhyme with Demolition Ax & Smash . . . did she just make me aware of an homage in your new monikers? (She likes the names #ftrkittens)"

Wheeler quickly noticed the tweet and confirmed "Dax" and "Cash" was indeed them paying homage to Demolition. He replied: "Your wife was the first to solve it."
