Introduction Of WWE Women's Intercontinental & United States Titles Being Discussed

Mid-card women's titles being talked about within WWE

More title belts are possibly coming soon to WWE TV.

PWN has reported that Women's United States and Intercontinental titles are in the works within WWE. Fightful Select has since noted that the creation of Women's US and IC titles has been discussed within the company. Talent have yet to hear anything about such belts internally, although wrestlers have long pushed for a mid-card women's belt on the main roster, including Bayley and Raquel Rodriguez.

Dave Meltzer also noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that new belts are "being talked about" in WWE. The Women's United States Championship would be on either Monday Night Raw or Friday Night SmackDown while the Women's Intercontinental Title would be on the other main roster brand.

"Someone is going to criticise me because I don't know who first reported it...I asked and I was basically told that is, in fact, what is being talked about. So there you go, two more championships coming, one on each brand," Meltzer said.

WWE recently added a women's mid-card title to NXT, creating the NXT North American Women's Championship. The belt is currently held by inaugural champion Kelani Jordan, who captured the championship at Battleground in June.
