Former NXT Champion Andrade took to Twitter recently, posting a picture of himself holding the NXT Title aloft from his title run in 2017/2018.
While Andrade didn’t write anything aside from a few fist emojis, it’s certainly fuelled speculation that he is angling for a return to the black and gold brand, where his reign as champion lasted 140 days.
Since being called up to WWE’s ‘main roster’, Andrade’s fortunes have been mixed. A former US Champion on Raw, Andrade’s reign with the belt was hampered by a suspension due to a violation of WWE’s wellness policy. Since then he has been used sporadically, adn has not featured on WWE TV since October 2020, where he and former manager Zelina Vega were attacked by The Fiend and Alexa Bliss.
Recent rumours have emerged stating that WWE Owner Vince McMahon doesn’t see anything in the former CMLL star, and it remains to be seen if Andrade’s Tweet is a hint at his future, or just simply wishful thinking.
