IWGP World Heavyweight Title Match Set For AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door

The IWGP World Heavyweight Championship will be on the line at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on Sunday, June 25.

Following a tease at All Together Again, SANADA appeared via video message during the June 14 edition of Dynamite and the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion issued an open challenge for a title match on June 25 in Toronto. It was unclear who would face the leader of Just Five Guys but "Jungle Boy" Jack Perry appeared later on Dynamite and accepted the open challenge as he continues his quest to become a champion in 2023. 

Forbidden Door will be SANADA's third defence of the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. He won the gold from Kazuchika Okada at Sakura Genesis in April and he has since successfully defended the belt against Los Ingobernables de Japon members Hiromu Takahashi and Yota Tsuji.
