Jack Perry Wins FTW Title On AEW Dynamite, Shatters Hook's Perfect Record

Hook's near year-long reign has ended at Jack Perry's hands

Jack Perry is the new FTW Heavyweight champion, after defeating Hook on Wednesday night's 'Blood and Guts' broadcast of AEW Dynamite in Boston.

Late in the match, Hook attempted a head-and-arm suplex, but Perry pushed him into referee Paul Turner in the corner, taking Turner out. Hook hit the suplex, but there was no referee to count the pinfall. As Hook went to wake Turner up, Perry smashed him in the head with the FTW belt and scored the win.

Hook had been undefeated in AEW since his in-ring debut in December 2021. His FTW title reign ends at 357 days, having won the title from former Team Taz stablemate Ricky Starks on the July 27, 2022 Dynamite in Worcester, MA.

Before the match, Perry's 'Tarzan Boy' theme music played, but he did not enter. Instead, a video aired of him 'burying' a Jungle Boy-like individual in the desert, before leaving in a limousine. Perry then made his entrance to Beethoven's 5th, forgoing his old attire for a leather jacket, leather pants, and sunglasses.
