Jade Cargill Reveals Why She Chose WWE Over AEW
Jade Cargill cites wanting to be in an established company as reason for choosing WWE over AEW
Apr 6, 2024
In September 2023, Jade Cargill was revealed to have signed with WWE after her contract expired with AEW. Despite a reported big money offer from Tony Khan to keep the former TBS Champion in AEW, Cargill opted for WWE, starting a new journey.
When speaking on Busted Open Radio, in which she was interviewed by current AEW personality Mark Henry, Cargill was asked about what went into her decision to join WWE and choose to veer away from Tony Khan’s promotion.
“AEW is a new company. Obviously, they’re still figuring things out. I am 31. I don't have time to really grow with the company at my age. I have to be in an established company.”
She spoke about how for a woman in her thirties, there are some hurdles to overcome, so heading to WWE at this stage of her career was the correct move for her.
Cargill is heading into this weekend to have a match at her very first WrestleMania event, teaming up with Bianca Belair and Naomi to do battle with Asuka, Kairi Sane, and Dakota Kai of Damage CTRL.
