Jake Hager Challenges Olympic Gold Medallist Gable Steveson At AEW Dynamite

Steveson claimed Olympic Gold two weeks ago

Jake Hager has laid down a challenge to Olympic Gold Medallist Gable Steveson for a showdown at a future AEW Dynamite.

Steveson recently captured the gold medal in men’s freestyle wrestling (125kg) at the Tokyo Olympics and has been open about his desire to compete in WWE at some point in the future. The 21-year-old also indicated he was leaving the door open to UFC, football and other opportunities as well.

AEW's Jake Hager, who previously competed in Bellator MMA, has now taken to social media to challenge Steveson, betting that the Gold Medallist couldn't take him down.

This led to an exchange on social media which saw Steveson tell Hager he'd take him down in five seconds and take the $20,000 bet off of him, leading to Hager asking Steveson if he wanted to face him at an AEW show in either Houston, Chicago, or New York?

Steveson would respond, saying he'd never heard of who Hager is, but told him to 'DM for my address'. The full exchange can be seen below.

Hager himself was a 2006 Collegiate All-American and holds the University of Oklahoma's single-season record for most pins in the 285 pounds (129 kg) weight class. He was also undefeated in his MMA Bellator career.
