Jake Hager Reveals A WWE Talent Was Blacklisted After Talking About A Wrestler's Union

No wrestler's union in WWE

Don't mention unions while in WWE.

According to former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Jake Hager, talk of a wrestler's union was banned in WWE and he actually saw a talent get blacklisted after mentioning wrestler's should band together.

"While I was there (in WWE), that was like the four-letter word. Don't talk about your contracts, and don't talk about anything having to do with a union otherwise you'll get blacklisted. I saw it happen. Someone...I can't remember exactly, but they were complaining about something and they were talking about how we should all get together and get some power and I'm like, 'It's not that company.' The biggest things with those WWE contracts are, they can cancel them anytime, and they've proven that they will, so what does it all really mean if you can't rely on it? You sign your life away," Hager said on Dutch Mantell's podcast.

There have been no serious efforts to form a major wrestler's union since 1986 when Jesse Ventura brought up the idea of establishing a union. Ventura held a locker room meeting but it didn't go anywhere after Hulk Hogan "ratted" on him to Vince McMahon only hours later.

Former Democratic Party US presidential candidate Andrew Yang tried to rally WWE talents into contacting a labour attorney in 2021 but nothing came from it.
