Jake Roberts Remains Unhappy With The DDT Becoming A Common Pro Wrestling Move

Jake Roberts would rather the DDT remained a finisher

As professional wrestling continues to evolve, what was once deemed a finishing move soon becomes just another weapon in a wrestler’s arsenal.

Debate still rages about the Superkick and Canadian Destroyer becoming ‘normal moves’, but for many the downgrading of the DDT is a more egregious crime. One name who is especially unhappy with the move no longer being a pure finisher is the innovator of the manoeuvre, Jake Roberts, with ‘The Snake’ saying the following to Steve Fall:

"It doesn't please me,” said Roberts. “I think it's a waste of a great move, but there's a lot of great moves that are being wasted today. You know, not just the DDT, but having said that, I hope they keep using it because every time they use it, it just brings my name back into the situation and that's a good thing. That's a good thing in the days of, you know, everything online, you get your name said. That's all you need."
