Jake Roberts Reveals His Current AEW Status

Jake Roberts has been mainly absent from AEW in 2022 due to ill health, and recently revealed his current standing with the organisation after returning to AEW in November.

Roberts, who has been battling COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), was asked about his role in AEW during a recent episode of the Snake Pit podcast, with Roberts saying the following:

"Whatever AEW wants out of me, I’m there. Whether it’s managing Lance [Archer] or doing something behind the scenes trying to help kids. I’ve been approached to do something where we visit hospitals and stuff and I’m very very excited to do it. It’s near and dear to my heart, hopefully we’re able to hit some rehab [centres] too where we can talk to some people and help them break the corner,” said Roberts.

One of the most celebrated minds in wrestling history, Roberts signed with AEW in 2019, later signing a two-year contract extension in 2021. During his time in AEW, Roberts has mainly served as Lance Archer’s manager, bringing the ‘Murderhawk Monster’ to AEW to battle Cody Rhodes.
