Jay White Challenges Hikuleo To Loser Leaves Japan Match At NJPW New Year Dash!!

Could Jay White be leaving NJPW?

Is Jay White set to leave New Japan Pro-Wrestling?

After what appeared to be a farewell at Wrestle Kingdom 17 after he dropped the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship to Kazuchika Okada, Jay White was in action at New Year Dash!! on January 5 as he teamed with Bullet Club stablemates KENTA, El Phantasmo, and Taiji Ishimori against Hiroshi Tanahashi, Hikuleo, Tama Tonga, and Master Wato.

Bullet Club lost by DQ after ELP hit Tama Tonga with the NEVER Openweight Championship. The faction ended up standing tall, though, after they laid out their opponents, with Jay White decking Hikuleo with multiple chair shots.

White then kneeled over Hikuleo and blamed him for losing to Okada at Wrestle Kingdom 17, noting that Tama Tonga and Hikuleo leaving Bullet Club had caused him to reach this point. The Switchblade then challenged Hikuleo to a Loser Leaves Japan Match, although no date for the bout was revealed.

Rumours have swirled about Jay White's future in New Japan for years. It was claimed in the past that White signed a seven-year deal in 2018 but White has cast doubt over where that is actually the case.
