Jay White Vs. Eddie Kingston Official For NJPW Battle In The Valley

Jay White and Eddie Kingston at NJPW Battle in the Valley confirmed

For the first time ever, Jay White and Eddie Kingston will meet in singles competition after a bout between the two was made official for New Japan Battle in the Valley in San Jose, CA on February 18.

The match was set-up on a recent episode of NJPW STRONG, with former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion White confronting Kingston, with ‘The Mad King’ formally challenging ‘Switchblade’ to a singles match at Battle in the Valley.

Animosity between White and Kingston has been building for months on STRONG, with the two tangling twice in October 2022. SO far they are tied at one victory apiece, with the team of Kingston, Kazuchika Okada, YOH, Amazing Red, Homicide, and Jon Moxley defeating a White led Bullet Club squad that also included Tom Lawlor’s Team Filthy at the Night Before Rumble on 44th Street, whilst Jay White and Juice Robinson got victory over Kingston and Okada one night later in tag action.

Matches confirmed for NJPW Battle in the Valley 2023:

  • KAIRI (c) vs. Mercedes Mone - IWGP Women's Championship
  • Kazuchika Okada or Shingo Takagi will defend the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship
  • Eddie Kingston vs. Jay White
  • “Filthy” Tom Lawlor vs. Homicide - Filthy Rules Match
  • David Finlay vs. Bobby Fish - Pre-Show
  • JR Kratos vs. Alex Coughlin - Pre-Show
