Jeff Hardy Storyline Murdered With Axes On TNA IMPACT

A TNA tradition continued on the October 29 edition of Thursday Night IMPACT as Jeff Hardy was killed off to close out the show.

Jeff teamed with brother Matt Hardy to take on Joseph Sawyer and Samuel Shaw in a Syx Slaughterhouse Match in the main event of TNA IMPACT, with the cinematic backstage brawl seeing the two tag teams use various weapons against each other. As TNA IMPACT drew to a close, Syx placed a trash can over Jeff's head and proceeded to smash axes into the bin, with Jeff collapsing to the floor as the show went off the air, having been murdered.

Jeff's storyline murder writes him off TNA TV, with the multi-time world champion unable to be involved at TNA's upcoming Destination X pay-per-view in Edmonton on November 15 and the post-Destination X IMPACT tapings in Calgary on November 18 and November 19 due to the tapings taking place in Canada.

Matt Hardy noted earlier this year on his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast that "still Jeff has some difficulties coming into Canada." This is likely because of Jeff's past DUI arrests, most recently in 2022. Hardy has not wrestled in Canada since a WWE house show in February 2019.

Jeff is also still dealing with bulging discs in his neck that he suffered at NXT Halloween Havoc 2025 and Matt noted on the latest edition of his podcast that his brother would likely be taking some time off to recover.

"It's been a year now since he's had this bulging disc which has been bugging him. I think he’s done everything he can do in his power. I think he’s maybe going to take some time off and just see what he can do to get it fixed up and corrected as much as possible," Matt said.

Jeff Hardy won't be dead on TNA TV forever, though, as he is front and centre in advertisements for the promotion's next tapings in the United States on December 18 and December 19 in El Paso, Texas. How TNA are planning to bring Hardy back from the dead is unknown but the Lake of Reincarnation is already an established element of Hardys' lore.

Past instances of wrestlers being killed off in TNA include Eric Young being stabbed by Cody Deaner in a prison complex in 2022 and Mickie James being pushed in front of a train in 2015.
