Jeff Hardy WWE Injury Update

The Hardy Boyz relinquished the SmackDown Live Tag Team titles at the end of April...

At the end of April, The Hardy Boyz were forced to relinquish their newly-won WWE SmackDown Live Tag Team Championships due to a leg injury suffered by Jeff.

The storyline reason for the injury was put on the shoulders of Lars Sullivan, who was attacking the likes of Team X-treme and R-Truth at the time.

However, the real reason for the injury is pretty much unknown, as Jeff was merely spotted hobbling at WWE Live events just after he and Matt won the SmackDown tag titles.

Back on May 3, WWE themselves announced that Jeff had undergone successful knee surgery: "Jeff Hardy underwent successful surgery Thursday to repair multiple lingering issues in his right knee, all of which were exacerbated in an attack by the monstrous Lars Sullivan on SmackDown LIVE."

However, PWInsider are now reporting that Jeff will be going under the knife once again within the next week. For the avoidance of any doubt, here's what their brief report states: "Jeff Hardy is expected to undergo surgery within the next week."

At the time of writing, it's not clear what the surgery is for.
