Jeff Jarrett Addresses Criticism Of AEW's Texas Chain Saw Massacre Deathmatch

Jeff Jarrett defends the Texas Chain Saw Massacre Deathmatch on last week's AEW Dynamite.

Speaking recently on his My World podcast, Jeff Jarrett has addressed criticism of the recent 'Texas Chain Saw Massacre Deathmatch' on AEW Dyanmite.

He and Jeff Hardy had a shenanigan-filled match, including a chainsaw-wielding appearance by iconic horror movie character Leatherface. The bout's tone and content attracted a lot of fan criticism, as it was seen by many to be a clear sponsorship opportunity shoehorned into the show with little cohesion. In response to this feeling, Jarrett has explained:

"The biggest disappointment I would’ve had, by far, is if there would have been no feedback. The point that [the match was] so divisive, that somebody cared so much about the AEW brand that they tune into Twitter or Instagram. I really thought that the sponsor [reacted positively.] Exact words [were] ‘Incredible. Way overdelivered.’ Okay, so that’s a win."

Neither Jarrett nor Hardy are currently set to appear on AEW's upcoming All In show at Wembley Stadium. However, Jarrett did recently attack Grado, a fan favourite of the UK wrestling scene, during an appearance on talkSPORT. This has prompted speculation that Jarrett vs. Grado could be a late addition to the card.

H/T to Fightful.
