Jeff Jarrett's AEW Contract To Expire After One Year
Jeff Jarrett’s AEW in-ring contract to expire after one year
Jan 9, 2025
Jeff Jarrett recently signed a new All Elite Wrestling performer’s contract, with the ‘Last Outlaw’ announcing it would be the final one of his illustrious career.
Jarrett wasted no time in going for championship gold, declaring for the Casino Gauntlet match on the January 8 Dynamite for a shot at AEW World Champion Jon Moxley. Unfortunately for Double J, he was unsuccessful in his attempt, with Moxley’s protege Wheeler Yuta attacking the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion on his way to the ring, precluding him from competing.
Earlier in the broadcast, Jarrett exchanged words with MJF, with MJF revealing that Jarrett’s deal will be up in a year. MJF was looking to cosy up to Jarrett, wanting to help Jarrett win the title with MJF receiving the first shot in return. Jarrett ultimately turned down MJF’s help.
The former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion signed with AEW in 2022, and has worked as both on-screen talent and as AEW Director of Business Development. The TNA Wrestling co-founder has been wrestling since 1986, meaning when his performer contract runs out it will cap off a 40-year career for the ‘King of the Mountain’.
