Jerry Lawler Pulls Out Of August Appearance Due To Health Concerns

The King is no longer scheduled for The Gathering IV convention

Jerry Lawler has been forced to pull out of an August appearance due to his ongoing health issues. The WWE Hall of Famer has been recovering since suffering a stroke in February.

Martin Damato announced on Tuesday that The King would not be appearing at The Gathering IV wrestling convention in Charlotte, North Carolina (which takes place August 3-6).

Writing on Facebook, Damato said:

"We are very sorry for those that wanted to meet the King. We know he was a major want for a lot of people. We have to understand that Jerry['s] health comes first and unfortunately he has to pull out and is just unable to travel and do these types of things right now. All of us wish the King a speedy recovery and that eventually he will make his return to what he loves doing"

Bill Apter provided a positive update on the 73-year-old's condition in June, though it looks like it will be a little while longer before Jerry is able to make public appearances.
