While Jimmy Uso looks to be Jey Uso's next major opponent, the Raw top star is aiming to secure singles gold at some point in the future.
Speaking with Billboard, Jey Uso revealed the Intercontinental Championship is at the tip of his list for singles gold due to his family's connection with the title. The belt has also been held by his favourite wrestler of all time, Scott Hall/Razor Ramon.
"The first singles championship on the top of my list is the IC [Intercontinental Championship] title. Gunther gonna have to run that. Everybody over there. He likes the Tribal Chief, you see what I do to the Tribal Chief? I don't give a damn, let's run that. My dad was an IC champion, my uncle, Umaga IC champion. Shawn Michaels. My favorite wrestler, the greatest, Razor Ramon. All the greats held the Intercontinental Championship and I'm trying to get that. That's pay-per-view material right there," Jey said.
Gunther is currently Intercontinental Champion and he is amid his record-breaking reign.
While he has not held a singles title in WWE, Jey Uso has enjoyed a tremendous amount of success in the tag team division as one-half of The Usos with Jimmy. They are nine-time tag team champions and hold the record for the longest single tag team reign in WWE history with 622 days. Jey has also held the Undisputed Tag Team Titles with Cody Rhodes.
