Jim Ross Hospitalised

Jim Ross taken to hospital ER

Jim Ross has revealed that he had to visit the hospital ER today due to suffering from shortness of breath while back home in Norman, Oklahoma.

JR tweeted: "Unexpected trip to ER in Norman this morning. Shortness of the breath. That's all for now."

Jim Ross has suffered from several health issues in recent years. He successfully underwent cancer surgery in early February and he also suffered a broken hip earlier this year. Good ol' JR remains under contract with All Elite Wrestling, having signed a new one-year contract with the promotion in February. He  has since been assigned to provide commentary for AEW pay-per-views, although he has pitched to do more shows in the promotion.

JR is a 50-year veteran of the industry, having begun his career as a referee before he transitioned to commentary on a full-time basis in 1977. He has since called the in-ring action for Jim Crockett Promotions, WCW, and most famously WWE where he had a long stint alongside Jerry "The King" Lawler. Ross has also provided English-language commentary for New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

Ross has been a part of All Elite Wrestling since 2019 and he was on the call for the company's first show, Double or Nothing, almost five years ago. JR believes 2024 could be his final year as an announcer.
