Jim Ross Praises AEW All In, Says Mercedes Moné vs. Britt Baker Went On Too Long

Jim Ross believes the TBS Title match at All In should've been a lot shorter

Jim Ross was at AEW All In: London 2024 this year, being brought in to call the huge main event between Bryan Danielson and Swerve Strickland. He spoke on his Grilling JR podcast to give his assessment of the show, offering positives and some calls for improvement.

He gave a lot of praise for the main event, and noted that it was interesting to see how Danielson prepared for the bout during the day in the lead up to the big match. When speaking about MJF vs. Will Ospreay, he stated that the build to the match had turned him off, but the match itself delivered. He explained that there was too much talk in the lead up to All In.

He also provided some criticism for Mercedes Moné vs. Britt Baker too, saying that the match went on for too long.

“I also think that 17 minutes was more time than they needed to tell the story that they needed to tell. Both of them have influence with Tony. Tony probably had it in his head. ‘Oh, let’s go about 10 bell to bell’, and that should have been plenty. I’d have signed off on that in a heartbeat, but talent negotiate for more time. They think automatically that if they have more time, their match will automatically be better, which is ridiculous, so I don’t know. I thought the match was too long and people just had not yet quite bought into that story and maybe another month of good TV, they would.”

Ross also praised Ricochet's debut, but warned AEW to be wary and to give him time to settle and get over.
